Department of Textile and Designing

From fibre to fabric, the design and development of textiles is the key to the business of fashion.The programme builds upon the integration of creative forces of design with textile technology, and also keeps in mind the historical, social and cultural contexts in which the designers work today.The department Offers education in textile & clothing to foster professional skills in students and Conduct research in the exploitation of plants resources for textile industry. Textiles is also an important industry in our locality, and there is very good scope of working with the local weavers to enhance their income by way of value addition and use of new technology. The Textile and Clothing is a significant industrial force which is unique in the wide ranging career opportunities it offers, i.e. merchandising, designing and manufacturing.
